Rose bay occurs as Sacramento, California-based alternative band (named a poisonous wild flower oleander), composed of Fred Nelson Jr. (drums), Doug Eldridge (bass guitar), Ric Ivanisevich (guitar) and Thomas Flowers (vocals, guitar). Their debut was Rose bay, an EP released on Fine Records in 1996; it was followed by Shrinking the Blob (1997). A song "Down When I'm Loaded" became the regional hit, & Rose bay signed by using Universal Records. Their major label debut was 1999's February Son which featured the singles "Why I'm Here" & "I Walk Alone."
